Jun 2018 This and That

Here are some odds and sods of our June activities.

LOL!  Hannah found out the hard way that it’s important to leave the beaters deep in the mixing bowl.  Isn’t she the cutest?!!

Her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes still melt me every single day!

Disney dress-up is always in order in our home.

I work with the best people!  These 3 fun guys are the ones I go for coffee with.  I’m reminded it’s time for coffee either by the faces in the window

or, this!!  They make me laugh every-single-day!!!

Hannah worked really hard to prepare for her Level 1 Royal Conservatory piano exam and she did great!

Benjamin’s birthday party where we saw, ‘Incredibles 2’.  Happy 10th Birthday Benjamin!!

Occasionally I need to work overtime.  Hannah loves it when she gets to come to work with Mommy!  The funny thing is that at one time I had to go discuss something with a co-worker and probably left my office for about 5 mins.  I came back to find her checking out the snacks that I’d ‘possibly’ stored in my overhead.  I asked if I’d left the cabinet unlocked and she giggled and said, ‘No!  I found your hidden key!’  LOL – So much for my safe hiding spot if my 9yo can find it in mere minutes!

When the boss is away I’m the one who convinces the fill-in that it’s our team’s tradition to go out for ice cream the Friday afternoon before a long weekend.  (Ummm…maybe we’d only done it once but I think this second time makes it an official tradition!  Yes – I am the trouble maker at work! )

Month of May–A Little Bit of This and That

As we prepared for summer Hannah and I spent some special time together getting a pedicure together.  She looked adorable in her little nail polish leggings.

For the past 2 springs the birds have built a nest on the ceiling fan above the deck in mom and dad’s back yard.

Against all odds the birds laid eggs in this precarious spot.  They eventually hatched but unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of the sweet baby birds.

This one makes me laugh.  I sit with Hannah when she practices piano and possibly ‘assist’ her.  LOL – I’m not sure she appreciates my help as much as I enjoy giving it!

We took a day and headed north with Nana and Papa and helped them open their trailer for the summer season.  It was our first time seeing their new room they added to the trailer.  What a beautiful addition!

Time for spring planting.  Hannah loves to pick up the flowers she finds on the floor of the garden centre.

Dinner with friends – special times and a rare Mommy’s night out.

When I got home she still wanted some cuddle time.  We cuddled for a bit but she just couldn’t stay awake any longer.  LOL – how can this be comfortable?

Class trip to a local pioneer village.  It was such a treat to share this day with Hannah and her class in spite of the fact that it was stinkin’ hot.  It reminded me that not only did the pioneers not have AC they didn’t even have fans!  So thankful for the pampering options of 2018.

One of the extra things I’ve done at work for a number of years is to be a volunteer Fire Warden and First Aid provider.  Wouldn’t you want to be a fire warden too if you got to wear this attractive outfit?!

Look Mommy!  I have 3 jackets on!

Hannah coloured a picture for me, put it in a plastic sleeve and then hung ribbon on it.  She gave it to me to ‘wear at work.’  Too cute!  I did it….at least for 5 mins or so!  Now it’s a beautiful piece of artwork on my office wall.

Of course the spaghetti box fell over  just as I was going out the door to work.  Ugh!

Hannah was excited when we moved her from her car seat into a booster seat in Grandma and Grandpa’s van!  She’s still in a 5 point harness in our car as we do a lot of highway driving and my car seat still fits her well so she’ll be in that for a while still but it’s booster seat time in the van.

We enjoyed going to see ‘Inside Out’.

My sweet girl was in tears going into class her last day of SK knowing she was changing teachers and schools in September.  Love how Mrs C comforted her.

March…A Month in Review

Back to Canada after our cruise meant jumping back into winter and all these layers of clothes.  Hannah is amazing at getting herself ready for school while I finish packing lunches and getting myself ready.  Somehow it’s often a cram to get out of the house on time on school mornings.

Piano lessons with Nana.  Sit quietly at the piano?  I wish!!

We enjoy working on her Princess Lego together.  It’s a far cry from the stuff I used to make!  Anyone want to join me in creating a rectangle house with possibly a door and window?  That’s the extent of my Lego skills.  Not so much my girl!

Nana’s raspberry cheesecake birthday cake.  Surprisingly easy to make!

Woot, mommy got a new office at work!  I crave sunlight, especially in the winter so when a couple of prime desks on the atrium had sat empty for more than a year I put forth a suggestion to the Employee Engagement Committee that possibly we could hold a lottery for those interested in moving to the atrium.  (Many don’t like these offices as they can be quite noisy at times.  Me, I had wanted one for years.)  Only about 9 people put their names forward for the lottery and the first name they drew was mine.  Woot!!  Moving on up!!

March was Grandpa’s birthday too.  Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Spring cleaning has begun and I love that Hannah is excited to clean alongside Mommy.  We’re making great progress as we tackle little projects each week.

Hannah and I were also excited in March when my cousin and her 6 amazing kids came to Toronto and we met up for supper.  Love these guys!!  So glad we were able to get together Bridge!  Love you!
