Trimming the Tree with an Awesome 3yo!

Trimming the tree this year was SO much fun!  Hannah helped from start to finish and I love the end product!  I had years of each decoration being ‘just so’ and all the colours matching and now I love, love, love the fun decorations that represent Hannah, her first Christmas, her interests and especially the ones she has made over the years!!

We started with the beads and originally I thought I’d put them on and them ask her to help me with the rest but she quickly realized what I was doing and as she helped my smile got bigger and bigger as I saw her creative spirit come out.DSC_0765

I’ve purchased a few boxes of plastic ornaments over the years and in the past those were the ones she’d put on.  This year she was able to help with all.  My only request was that she put on some shoes just in case some fell.  Our motto, ‘Accidents happen.’   You’ll hear that phrase around our house on almost a daily basis.  Anyway, she chose her new sparkle shoes and I think they were the perfect choice for this festive occasion.IMG_8986

In the end only 1 ornament was broken and yes, Mommy did it!  I was kneeling down sweeping up the little pieces and my sweetie walked up behind me, gently began rubbing my back and said, ‘It’s okay Mama.  Accidents happen.’  Oy!  She melts me!!

This year Hannah was able to do so much more and she was so helpful!IMG_8964

Each year when we’re at Disney I try to find an ornament that represents her current Disney love.  Last year it was the entire Clubhouse gangIMG_9133

but this year Goofy is her favourite by far.IMG_8978

The final touch on the tree is always our angel.  This year was extra special as Hannah was finally able to place the angel on top of our tree.  There were a few attempts and lots of giggles

and finally….success!IMG_9008 - Copy

Merry Christmas everyone!IMG_9010

A Weekend of Fun

Last weekend we enjoyed some fun family times.  After gymnastics Saturday morning we enjoyed a spur of the moment game of bowling and lunch with Uncle Dave, Auntie Trish, Makenna and Kallen.  IMG_8930

Most bowling alleys close to us have 5 pin bowling so the girls are able to lift the balls and kinda get them down the lane.   Hannah started the day throwing overhand (yikes!!)

but we eventually talked her into using the ‘granny shot’ method.IMG_8936

I love how close these two are!  They’re blessed to be only 5 months apart in age and are inseparable whenever they’re together.IMG_8934

At one point we had 3 balls resting among the pins but Uncle Dave quickly took care of them.

Makenna, we’re looking forward to bowling with you again sometime!IMG_8933

Sunday evening we went on a wonderful Girl’s Night Out into the big city with Auntie K and Chick when we went to a Raffi concert.

The concert was really interactive and we had lots of fun singing along and the girls enjoyed dancing too.  Thanks for a fun evening!  We’ll have to do this again sometime Auntie K and Chick!IMG_9027

Costco is open!

Hannah and I are both excited that we now have a Costco closer to home.  We had fun wandering through it recently and taking pics with some of the HUGE things they sell there.

Even with a 3yo in the house who is still learning she does not need to use half a roll each time, I think we’re set for a while!IMG_8893

These next items we didn’t purchase but had to take pictures of due to their enormous sizes!!

Nutella anyone?IMG_8952

Mmmm!  M3 – wanna help me with this one?IMG_8953

This last one was the biggest challenge to leave on the store shelf.  The price point of $199 made the decision much easier but Hannah LOVED this kitchen!  She played inside it for more than 20 minutes until it was time for us to leave because the store was getting ready to close.  This was one of those times as a Mom I wanted to buy her the moon.  She made me lots of yummy things for us to eat while she was there and I !oved watching her imagination explode!IMG_8957 - Copy

Costco, we’re glad you’re here!

Bobble Chippy Came Back!!

Saturday morning was an exciting one when we woke up to a fun Christmas breakfast prepared by our Elf, ‘Bobble Chippy.’  BC had been with Santa at the North Pole since last Christmas so when he returned he wanted to come back with a party in his pocket.  So exciting!
Hannah and I had started a craft together earlier in the week and Bobble Chippy turned them into laminated place mats that we’ll use this Christmas season.DSC_0742
He also set the table with all sorts of bright, colourful decorations!DSC_0746

Welcome back Bobble Chippy!  I know you’ll have lots of good things to report back to Santa each night because Hannah is an awesome little girl!DSC_0751

Before I was a Mom…..

I thought I’d ‘fix’ our Christmas tree after my child went to bed.

Now that I’m a mom I realize that I’ve never seen a more beautiful, perfect tree for our home!  Not one single ornament is being moved.  I love it just the way it is!IMG_8992
