I’m sadly behind in posts right now. With Dad’s help as well as that of some awesome friends, I’m in the midst of a large reorganizing project at the house. I’ll post more about it and other stuff once it’s done.

Thanks Uncle J!
Uncle J came over to pick up something from our house the other day so this Mama was quick to ask him for help. There is much I can do around the house but other times it’s just nice to have some help. My dad and brother are great at helping me with little projects but this time it was Uncle J to the rescue fixing Hannah’s dresser so that the drawers didn’t fall off the track each time I opened them.
Hannah was quick to help him out and great and quality control.

Enjoying Our New Space!
Hannah and I are thoroughly enjoying the courtyard and all that it offers. It's like a whole new room has been added to our home!
Last week a friend came over whom I met 4 years ago at an agency picnic when we were both waiting for our precious daughters from China. Since then Jill and her hubby were blessed with the adorable Alex! Alex and Hannah played SO well together! It was a beautiful sunny day the day of their visit so we spent the majority of it outside. We also tried out Hannah's ladybug pool for the first time.
This made me laugh and like any good mommy I quickly grabbed my camera first. Hannah's hat had gotten wet in the pool so my poor sweetie couldn't see anything. Oops! I took the pic then took it off to dry.
After our swim we enjoyed lunch on the deck.
Sorry Jill! Realized afterwards that all my pics were of the kids. Surprise, surprise!
Since our first visitors, I purchased a little patio set that will make it much easier to eat outside. It's just a nice size and we've already had company over for lunch. Wow! In the two weeks since the back yard has been transformed, we've already used it more than I did in the entire 14 years before! Thanks again Tim!!
These pictures just make me laugh. It took me about 45 mins to put the patio set together so I pulled Hannah's high chair close to the screen door and she dined while mommy did her thing. When I went in it looked like a small tornado had gone through! :o) It was time to clean the high chair and floor and then an early bath for my sticky baby girl sporting a banana rinse in her hair!
Another afternoon of pool fun
I know that we'll have many more fun times in the courtyard. Yeah!!

Introducing...The Courtyard!
The deck is finished and has taken on a new name: The Courtyard! We love our new space and are excited to begin spending time out there! It's been rainy much of the weekend but the little we were out there Hannah thoroughly enjoyed herself! Her favourite thing right now is climbing up and down the little step. Here are some pics of the finished space!
Picture of the outside. I like how Tim built it right down into the ground so that nothing can take up residence under there.

We don't have any furniture yet but I have my eye on a set and am hoping that it's going to go on sale. We also have a little ladybug pool that we'll fill up for Hannah to enjoy. I'm soaking some morning glory seeds that I'll plant in a planter at the bottom of the long wall and hopefully later this summer we'll have beautiful flowers climbing. It's so much fun to finally be able to use a space that was virtually useless until now!
Now I'm dreaming about putting a little deck at the front of the house next year and getting rid of the cement step that is currently there.....

Our New Space
There's just something about Hannah being home that has encouraged me to get some long dreamed of projects done. 2 years ago it was the teaching studio and now, the deck.
The back yard is 9' x 17' so the whole thing is being turned into a deck with a fence around it. A good friend from church has a deck building business and he's doing it for me and it already looks great just 2 days in!!
Before:
Day 1:
As cute as this final pic of Day 1 is, it's also when Hannah aged mommy 10 years!! I'd buckled her into her seat and turned on her 'Baby Signing Time' DVD which normally lulls her into a quiet place as she watches it. I'd taken this time to pop outside and take pics of the progress. The next thing I know I hear the pitter patter of little feet and looked up to see Hannah running towards the open door with her arm above her head saying, 'Hi!' Now was one of those times when I was glad I'd saved 'STOP' for times when I really mean it! I yelled 'Stop' which caused her to immediately stop where she was, take time to sign 'stop' and say, 'staa!' Phew!!! That was too close! By this time I was back to her and praising her for listening so well to mommy!
Day 2:
The top of the deck is cedar and Tim is doing this beautiful picture frame style trim around the outside. Looks great!
Hannah is enjoying having Mr. Tim and his tools entertain her throughout the day. Kudos to him....I think he said 'hi' back to her at least 50 times and he'd make little sounds especially for her. She sits like this through most of her meals and when she's down she's hanging out at the screen door. What fun she's having with him here!
Tomorrow (weather permitting) the step goes in as well as the sides of the fence. He's doing a neat fence style that I can't quite picture in my head so I'm looking forward to seeing it! Friday night it should all be done and I think Hannah and I will celebrate with a BBQ steak dinner on the deck!

Guess Mommy Forgot to Close the Gate!
Mommy forgot to close the gate at the bottom of the stairs earlier this week and when Hannah was quiet for bit I decided to find her. (You know that quiet is never good!) Here's where I found her - playing 5 steps up! She's great at going up but we're still working on going down. Thankfully I found her before anything happened.
You know I've been more careful with the gate ever since this happened!

Tulip Time!
Earlier this month Hannah and I spent some time outside enjoying our tulips. They're almost as tall as she is! She enjoyed the flowers but the grass and dirt was another story. She was not impressed by either!
