We Don't Wanna Grow Up!

Joy-Lynn and I went out for another fun night on the town last week and it didn't take long before the antics began. :o)

She was returning this microsphone to a friend's daughter but not until we had our own version of 'Canadian Idol' in the car. We talked about taking it into the store with us but decided we might frighten small children in the store.

Before we bought the snacks to take to our 'Girls Night Out' with some of the ladies fron Sunday School, we needed to test them. We didn't want to choose something yucky did we?


We were heading to her sister's place and I'd never been there before so we were dependant on Joy-Lynn giving me directions. Ummmm...I think we were chatting and laughing a bit too much and missed a turn...what do you think?

But, look like we found when we missed our turn!! Hmmm....these pics look familiar. I wasn't going to get on the roller thingy but she 'double dog dared' me and ya just can't pass up a double dog dare!

Fun times with a great friend! I love how we don't need to be doing anything special, we just make the most of whatever we're doing and....we're always on the lookout for opportunities for fun! Love ya J-L!

Girls Night Out!

Monday night Joy-Lynn, Carol and I decided it was time for a Girls Night Out and we headed to the late show to see Baby Mama. It was a cute, fun movie and we laughed through much of it.

They teased me about being a little ‘too organized’ when I showed up with Ziploc popcorn bowls for each of us but hey…you could put a small down payment on a car for what they charge for drinks and popcorn at the show!! (Rebecca, Victoria and I have it down to a fine art. We carry in totally legit bottles of water then as soon as the previews start they hand them down, I pop a Kool-Aid single serving into each of theirs and a Crystal Light into mine and we’re good to go once the popcorn is poured! :o) Movie night on a budget works for us!

Birthday Party Fun!

Tonight Rebecca, Victoria and I went to Joy-Lynn's to celebrate Breanne's 9th birthday. What a fun time we had! Pizza for supper with birth day cupcakes for dessert. Yumm!!

Rachel's birthday isn't until May but she wanted to practice for her birthday so we added a candle to her cupcake and sang to her too. She was as pleased as punch!

After supper we headed off to the movie's to see the 3D Hannah Montana movie. It was fun and very well done. It's neat how they film 3D movies and it feels like you're right there! In fact, Joy-Lynn and I felt so much part of the crowd that we'd clap along, dance along (as much as we could from a seated position) and then yell and cheer at the end of some of the pieces. The girls were pretty stoic at the beginning of the movie but loosend up after a while....well, after we began embarassing them they said. What?? Us?? No way! It was dark....nobody knew who we were and after our silliness, and them informing us that they were putting up an invisible wall, they loosened up and began to move just a little too.

Here is Joy-Lynn sharing some of the dance moves she learned from Miley. In the absence of an actual microphone she did the best she could and improvised with what was left of Breanne's sucker. Go Joy-Lynn! Go Joy-Lynn!

The girls are just starting to settle for the night. Rebecca has officially renamed our sleepovers to 'partyovers' since she and Victoria don't get much sleep. I think it's a great name! I love the friendship these 2 share and am happy to host their partyovers! I'm guessing I'll be falling asleep tonight to the sounds of giggles, whispers and snickers down the hall. Ahhhh, sweet, sweet music to my ears. (Although, dare I say it? I just snuck downstairs to take this pic and they're starting to look a little...shhh...tired! Oooo...a girl can dream!)

**Update** It's now an hour later and the girls are tucked safely into bed. Sleeping? No...it was all a plot and they're wide awake. Looks like they're not alone!

Christmas Light Adventure!

Joy-Lynn and I decided a couple of weeks ago after our 'digger pictures adventure' that it would be fun to take her girls out to see a nearby neighbourhood that is famous for their beautiful lights. Given that Joy-Lynn and I tend to take the fun, adventurous route together, normally it's just the two of us. This time we decided to have fun with her girls and the fun began moments after we left the house. This little sign was on the street that we intended to take to the next town. Did we turn as requested and go via the highway? Ummm...nope. We just went by to see how it was. No problem at all. The road was great and I'm guessing it will be open soon. Her oldest daughter was a little surprised by her mom's driving though as a little 8yo voice pops up from the back seat, 'I don't even know you!' Oh yah...the fun had begun! LOL! It was so neat to hear the girls gasps of wonder and squeals of excitement as they saw the houses come into view one after another. Here are a few of our favourites. This was her oldest's favourite! Absolutely beautiful!!
An evening with us would just not be complete without...ice cream! It may be 6 days before Christmas with snow on the ground and a nip in the air but it's always ice cream time for us! (As soon as Joy-Lynn told the girls about our adventure her middle daughter talked about the last time Miss Ryan came over and brought ice cream! Tonight's ice cream fun....



Thanks for another great time Joy-Lynn! I love your idea of making this an annual tradition and look forward to the day when Hannah's little voice is ooooing and awwwing along with your girls!

Don't Ya Love Your Crazy Friends?

Ahhh...crazy friends! When Joy-Lynn and I get together we just never know what will happen. A normal evening out can turn into an adventure in a matter of mere minutes. :o)

Last evening started out innocently enough. I picked up the babysitter and drove her to Joy-Lynn's, dropped off the babysitter at Joy-Lynn's place and picked her up and the fun had begun before we were even out the driveway. We were headed to a fun evening at a friends house with a 'few' ladies from the church! (I say 'few' because it ended up there was a great turnout and almost 50 ladies showed up! Have you ever tried to play the gift stealing game with 50 ladies?? Let's just say it was interesting and lots of fun.)

Anyway, back to the adventures of J-L and C. We were munching on our appetizers before we were even at the end of her block! Why wait when they're hot and the smell is oh so tempting? After all, if we'd waited we would have had to drive at least 3kms to the party before enjoying them.

We both kinda knew where we were going and only took a few wrong turns. This is pretty common when we get together as it's kinda an unwritten rule that we need to take roads we're not familiar with to see what we can find on our way to a location.

Look what we found last night! Diggers!!! Just a couple of houses away from Liane's there are new houses being built and this equipment was just sitting there. All the other ladies just drove past these temptations but not Joy-Lynn and I! We saw it as a photo opportunity and laughing ourselves silly, took full advantage of it!
