3 Word Sunday - July 27, 2008
(Had a post all ready and it 'disappeared' **ugh!!**)
This week I decided to post 2 '3 Word' Pics because I just couldn't decide.
The first is a pic of a fun family event we went to today. I have vivid memories of being a child and sitting in the bleechers with dad watching Drum and Bugle Corp competitions. About a year ago I was surfing the net and came upon the Drum Corps International website. As I followed the announcements of this years tours I found that there was going to be one not too far from home so decided that would be a fun Father's Day gift for dad!
Today Mom, Dad, Rebecca and I travelled to this competition and it was wonderful! It was all we remembered and more! Not only did we relive our memories and discuss things from the past but Rebecca was introduced to something new and she said she really enjoyed it. The pic above is of the winning corp that was from Holland! Now that's quite the commute to compete!
This corp also entertained all of us as we were in awe of them! They are all corp alumni and reformed recently to march as an exhibition corp. They did a GREAT job... especially considering most of them are 60+ and some are even in their 80's! They marched a full program with knees high, instruments finely tuned and had the crowd clapping along! What fun!
My second picture is pretty typical of the summer of 2008. Sunny... storm... sunny... storm... Now, we're not just talking a few drops falling we're talking booming thunder and lots of lightening and then within minutes the sun is back out. I'd wished yesterday I'd counted the number of times these two weather patterns changed places. I know that at least 4 times I unplugged my laptop just to be cautious. How has your summer weather of 2008 been? Normal or different? We've already broken the record for being the raniest summer ever but it's also come with warm temps and lots of sun so that works!

3 Word Sunday - Happy Father's Day!!
Happy Father's Day Dad! I love you!!
Today at church we celebrated Father's Day with a day that was devoted to Dad and celebrated things that he would enjoy. The weather was perfect, the BBQ tasty and the theme of the day... 'Gentleman, Start Your Engines!' 
Yes, today our church hosted a car ralley and BBQ in the parking lot and invited the community to join us. It was so neat to see so many enjoying these cool cars!
The guest speaker for the day was Gary Elliott who shared some of his racing history with us, his testimony and the way God called him and has used him to minister to those who race with him.What a great day to celebrate dads!!
In the afternoon we headed to my brother's place where he and Trish hosted a beautiful Father's Day BBQ for Dad and Trish's Dad too. Mmmm...steak, baked potatoes, salad and ice cream cake for dessert. What a great afternoon!Happy Father's Day Dad! I love you!!

Not a serious one this week. With the warm temperatures suddenly bursting forth on Friday it meant I could dig my capris out of the back of the closet. One look at my pasty white legs and I quickly remembered how long it had been since they'd seen the sun. Hopefully this beautiful weekend is just the beginning of a wonderful, long, hot summer!Ahhhh....SUMMER!! Bring it on!

The boys deep frying our supper last night. One word...super-yummy!!
Last year we met Julie and Elisa as they were excitedly awaiting their referrals. Just a couple of weeks after we met they received their referrals for the adorable Zoe (l) and Naomi (r). These little girls are absolutely adorable and it was a treat to spend the evening with them and their mommies!!

3 Word Sunday
A couple of months ago a friend started asking people to sum up their week in 3 words. I've submitted posts to her most weeks but haven't posted the same here. Decided I'd like to share some of my '3 Word' posts with you, beginning this week.
Here's how it works:
'Sum up your week in three little words.“You can sing it, you can say it, you can write it, you can draw it. It can be funny or sad or poignant as long as it’s honest.” 3 words to sum up your week - posted in any form you chose. Video, picture, etc....get as creative as you want. We will do it on Sundays, that way you will have had enough time to think about how you want to sum up your week.'
