Hop Hop Hop! Fun on the Farm

Yesterday Hannah and I met Auntie K, Uncle J, Chick and Pea at a local farm ready for some Easter fun!

Two years ago I remember stopping at this farm to pick up a fresh baked pie on my way to my parent’s place to celebrate Easter dinner.  On that day as I walked from my car to the bakery, I watched the children playing with their parents my heart hurt.  When would it be my turn?  When would I be the parent helping with the craft or excitedly hunting for eggs with my child?  At that point in time my file had been logged in for just over 3 years and I felt the end to my wait was drawing near but still as CCAA crawled through the files matching only 2 or 3 days per month, the end of the wait still seemed too far away to grab hold of.  Although the sun shone brightly that day there was a cloud of sadness raining in my heart.

Fast forward to yesterday when once again the sun shone brightly yet this time I was one of the parents that was there with my precious daughter!  The importance of the moment was not lost on me as this time my heart soared!

We started our day in the greenhouse decorating Easter baskets.  IMG_0077

Once the kiddos works of art were completed we headed outside.  Although the calendar said it was April 22 it was cold!  We’ve had a cold spring so far and I sure hope that changes soon.  Hannah’s first stop outside was to have her face painted like a cute little bunny!  She enjoyed this so much and kept it on until bath time last night.

  2. I'm so glad you finally have Hannah to hold and share your life with. Happy Easter!
By the way, if you're liking smoothies, you might as well try "the green drink." I use frozen blueberries, a banana, yogurt, a little almond or soy or regular milk and a big handful of spinach. The blueberries make it a nicer color, and you can't taste the spinach at all. My kids get a big, healthy serving of veggies and don't even know it!
