Snowflake Balloon as Big as XiaoFen!

For the past couple of months our grocery store has had these huge snowflake balloons decorating their store.  And yes, we’re talking HUGE!  Every time we went into the store Hannah would excitedly shout, ‘Balloon!’ and we would make our way to one of them.  Mama would carefully pull on the ribbon and bring a balloon down so that Hannah could touch it, say ‘hi’, tap on it and then say ‘buh bye’ as we gently let it float back up.  We visit the grocery store at least twice a week (It’s a fun outing.  Yes, I’m crazy but grocery shopping has always been enjoyable and now Hannah and I enjoy it together.) so we’ve played our little game many, many times over the past couple of months.

Fast forward to last Sunday when we were in Windsor visiting family.  We stopped at a grocery store to buy milk and as we were checking out one of the employees came up to us and asked us if we wanted one of the balloons as they were done with them and giving them away.  The sensible part of me wanted to say ‘no thank you’ as I knew it would mean transporting the balloon with us on the 5 hour drive home, but the Mama part of me thought,  ‘How can I say no when we’ve both enjoyed these balloons so much?’ So, the Mama part of me won out and we now have this fun balloon gracing the ceiling of our home.  The ribbon has been extended so that Hannah can reach it anytime she wants and yes, that’s often.  She continues to shout ‘balloon!’ each morning when she comes downstairs, pull it, talk to it and check out her reflection in it.  It was a challenge to tie it down for the drive home but I don’t for one moment regret bringing this ‘little’ piece of Christmas home with us! 5. Too cute...once it starts to deflate put it away until next year - the beauty of these balloons - you can keep them for years and years and just blow them up again (most stores will re-inflate them for $1.00)

from a Mom who has taken home her share of balloons!

  8. What fun! Z loves the balloons at the grocery store. We don't have any that big here, though.

You are much more patient than I traveling with that for five hours. I could do it if it were the neighborhood grocery, but five hours?!? You're good!!
