Hannah's Nursery!!!

The finishing touches are all in place and I am finally ready to share Hannah's nursery with you!

Her actual nursery has a toddler bed in it which she will use later. In the beginning I'm going to start with having her in my room. She will never have slept on her own so it would be quite difficult on her to be placed in a room on her own and I'm also hoping that her being able to wake up and see me there will help with the attachment and bonding we'll be building together. When she's ready I'll move her in here and if she's still in her crib the toddler bed will be moved to the basement for a while.

A sneak in a tiny pic of the 'before' so you'll see where it's come from with a lot of help from Mark, Michelle, Joy and my Dad. Can you tell I prefer to work with others rather than alone?

Without further adieu I give you Hannah's nursery!

A little train made by Auntie Doris.

Wall Words that didn't quite end up like I'd expected so I'm calling them Wall Whispers. They say, 'Such a big miracle in such a little girl' Love that!! (Open the picture and squint real hard and you may see her wall words :o)

Thanks for your help everyone! Together we have created a beautiful, peaceful room for Hannah!

  7. One of the great things Chelley is that I've used this time of preparation as a time to clean, purge and prepare for Hannah to come home. I didn't want to move the stuff from one area to another so, much of what was in there has gone to our local, 'Bibles for Missions' thrift store and other stuff that was no longer useful made it's way to the dump. The basement that we so carefully cleaned and tidied with the help of friends in the spring is still tidy. Yay!! It felt great to get rid of extra stuff that I no longer need and to organize what is left. My scrapbooking supplies are now organized in the basement and I can even find what I'm looking for! :o) Ahhhh...feels great!!

  26. Very nice, simple and sweet! I love the soft pink with the accents of darker pink.

The doll carriage is a dream!

I wish every mom prepared as well as you for meeting the emotional and psychological needs of their children. I'm glad you've posted so much about the things that will help make Hannah's transition easier and that she'll sleep in your room. I plan to do the same with my daughter.

I admit I've been a bit disappointed at the lack of a more natural parenting style in the adoption community. I expected far more co-sleeping or rooming in and more one-on-one with less frou-frou (like too many toys, TV, videos, processed foods, automatic re-vaccinating, etc...)

You are going to be a GREAT mom! You seem like a very sensitive person which will give you an advantage when helping Hannah. I think that you will feel what she's feeling and have a good sense of what to do to help her.

I'll be praying that all goes smoothly with the logistics of your trip and that Hannah will feel safe and secure with you, and her love for you will grow as quickly as your love for her.
