I opened Google Reader this week to see a pop-up notification that Google Reader will no longer be available as of July 1, 2013. Ugh!! I use Google Reader to follow well over a hundred blogs. I have them organized by those I check most often, people I’ve met and also by topics. I’m going to miss this program that I use almost on a daily basis.
If you don’t use Google Reader, what do you use to track blogs and their updates? Are you happy with it? I’m on the search for a new tool to use and will begin to move my blogs over.
Buh bye Google Reader. You’ll be missed.
I hate it when they move our cheese. I just have everyone on my sidebar, and it updates when they do. But I don't read a hundred blogs! You are a people person!
ReplyDeleteI use my google blogger dashboard. When one of the blogs I follow posts it shows up on my blogger dashboard. That way I'm not wasting my time checking in on blogs that haven't posted.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking into feedly check out this post. http://m.lifehacker.com/5990456/google-reader-is-getting-shut-down-here-are-the-best-alternatives
ReplyDeleteI use a great program called Bloglovin! www.bloglovin.com
ReplyDeleteYou set it up with the blogs you read and it will capture them when they have been updated.
I've used for about 6 months now and love it!

Just happen the same to me. Use Feedly is free and it takes by himself all the information of the google reader and is very similar.

I used Feedly and FeeddlerRSS(app) and I really like them so far.
ReplyDeleteJust sent you the same link Lisa did.
ReplyDeleteI got this message too. Ugh. I only moved to Google Reader when Bloglines closed down. I think they reopened later but I didn't want to move back at that point.
ReplyDeleteI tried Bloglovin....not loving it! SLLLLLOOOOWWWW to update site feeds. Image heavy...can not compress view to words only. Sl;ows down computer. Ugh!!
ReplyDeleteKeep smilin!
I use a program called Sage which works with Firefox. I have no complaints!!! You do have to click on the update button and it goes and shows which blogs have updated that day.
ReplyDeleteI use Bloglines. It's worked well for me.

ReplyDeleteI am so sad. Google Reader had been the best one that I had ever seen. Not looking forward to interviewing a new service.
