My sidebar has decided to take a trip south and can now be found at the bottom of my screen. Hmmm...I'm guessing that would no longer make is a 'sidebar' but a 'bottom feeder?'
Looking for help to get it back up where it belongs! Any hints, suggestions greatly appreciated. I know I'm not the first person this has happened to.
I didn't make any changes to it that I'm aware of, it just took a dive all on it's own.
** Update**
Thank you Lisa M!! You fixed it...and I'm not sure I ever would have found it! A couple of posts ago I received an HTML error when I tried to post and bad me just clicked the box 'Don't show any more errors' and published it anyway. Well, that was it. Somewhere in the background of my post was an incomplete < div > < /div > tag that caused the problem and the sidebar moved south. It's back up where it belongs...ahhh, that feels better! Thanks Lisa!! Your help was greatly appreciated!

Try bumping your wrapper up to 700 or 750 instead of 690 in the template and preview. Stephe
ReplyDeleteThis is from my blog template under the "content" section...
ReplyDelete#content {
width:780px;
margin:0 auto;
padding:0;
text-align:center;
}
#main {
width:460px;
float:left;
}
#sidebar {
width:220px;
float:right;
}
Can you tweak yours similar. I found that when my width of the main area & sidebar area exceeded the width of the content, my sidebar stuff would drop to the bottom. I would just increase my "content" width to allow them to fit or tweak the other way. Make any sense. I don't really know html...just what worked for me thru trial and error. Good luck. Stephe
Using Blogger, you should just be able to click the correct box and drag it to the space where you want it. Email me if you have more questions... viewfromthefishbowl@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help ladies but so far it's still fighting me. I tried your good suggestions Stephe but it only changed the look of my blog (ie. vertical green bars disappeared) but didn't pop the sidebar back up.
ReplyDeleteMy template is still the old HTML so I don't have an option to drag the bars...wish I did. :o)
Still open to suggestions....
Okay, then go into your template and reduce your side bar number. Right now it's 226...
ReplyDelete#sidebar {
width: 226px;
Try 200 and preview and see if that brings it up!!!
I have the old template too...
This happened to me a couple months ago!!!
ReplyDeleteSend me an email and I will tell you how to fix it!
Lisa
Thanks Stephe...tried but it's still down there. :o(
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful to have so many helpful people around you!
ReplyDeleteYou can ignore my email now!! ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah Cathy - now you can help me if mine ever decides to travel South...or North...or West....HAHA!
ReplyDeleteI am like you....I don't know much. I have done stuff like that with my error and someone has had to fix it for me. I see all these cute blogs out there and would love to have one, but I don't know how and I am afraid, so mine is plain. Oh well. Isn't it nice to know people who are computer/blog savey?
