Disney–Day 1–Travel and Magic Kingdom

First of the day to check in.  She looks pretty happy for 4AM!  Thankfully she slept the entire flight to Orlando.IMG_7039
Yay we’re on the Magical Express and headed to our resort.IMG_7044
My plan for day 1 was going to be a quiet day at the resort, checking out the new Art of Animation and possibly going mini golfing.  But…Hannah was itching to get to the parks and go on rides so off we went!
For months and months Hannah has been talking about going on Splash Mountain and we were both excited whey she hit the magical 40”!  Here she is with our Fast Passes but unfortunately that’s as far as we got as she suddenly decided Splash Mountain was not for her.  I’m hoping that changes within the week.IMG_7057
We hopped on the train and headed over to the new Fantasyland.  The first ride of the day was ‘The Barnstormer’ which she loved.IMG_7059
There are now 2 Dumbo rides and the queue is an interactive place for the kids to play.  Perfect!  I love all the neat ways Disney is changing up their lines and making the waiting time easier.  This ride has neat indoor (= air conditioned!) play area for the kids to play in and when it’s their time for the ride the ringer thingy (similar to what you’re given in a restaurant) goes of off and you get in line.  Awesome!

We were there for about 5 hours but then it was time to head back to our room and get a good night’s sleep.IMG_7061

We called it a night early.  Hannah was asleep by 8 and mommy wasn’t far behind and asleep by 9.  Tomorrow, more Magic Kingdom fun!IMG_7093

  1. Yeah! I love posts from Disney :)

Splash looks scary when you're little but Hannah strikes me as a brave soul, I bet she is on there before the week is out.

We just got back and we rode Dumbo a few times, but always with fast pass. I was wondering what was inside the tent, as with the fastpass you miss out on that. the Pager idea is brilliant.

I'll be reading all week to see what you get up too.

  2. SO EXCITING!!! I, too, think that Hannah will work up the courage to try SM by the end of the week. Have fun and keep posting!

  3. Wow! Great start to a fabulous vacation. We can't wait to share a Walt Disney adventure with Charlotte. Looking forward to reading more about your daily adventures. There's still a few more Disney characters that we need to introduce Charlotte to by way of DVDs. She definitely has her favourites. Is there an Under the Sea/Ariel themed ride?

    Have a blast,
    Debbie

  4. Have a great time! I'm a little scared of Splash mountain myself - I hate the big drop at the end! I always learn great tips from you so I'll be following your week!

BTW, what resort did you choose?
