Disney on Ice–Worlds of Fantasy

Sunday afternoon Hannah and I joined her best friend Ben and his parents in Toronto to see ‘Disney on Ice – Worlds of Fantasy’.  IMG_9590 - Copy

She’d seen the ads on Disney Junior for the past couple of months and called me to watch them each time they were on.  Little did she know that months earlier we’d already purchased tickets. Smiledisney-on-ice-worlds-of-fantasy1

One of Hannah’s favourite treats when we go to special performances is cotton candy.  This time it came with this sweet little Tinkerbell flower hat and a Cars hat for the boys.IMG_9591

Knowing we were going to see this show after Christmas I picked up a couple of fun light-up, spinney toys for the kids when we were at Disney in November.  They were a huge hit!IMG_9609 - Copy

The first part of the show was Cars and the kids loved it!IMG_9620

Cars was followed by The Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell which Hannah quite enjoyed.  I think Ben would have preferred Mater continue to skate around the ice rather than the fairies!IMG_9641

The final part of the show was Toy Story 3 and then Mickey and the gang joined them at the end.

My Disney loving gal really enjoyed the show and has talked often about when we go again next time.  I think I’ll consider for our Christmas holidays again next year.

Love these fun, memories I’m able to create with my precious daughter!IMG_9612 - Copy

Squishing as much fun as we possibly can into one day!

I love it when a day that was quiet fills up with lots and lots of fun!  Friday morning we woke up and met Miss Liz and Ava for breakfast and then headed out to a local toboggan hill.  The only other time Hannah had been on a sled it was down a little hill not much longer than the sled itself.  This time not so much!  Hannah had a cold so wasn’t overly excited about tobogganing but she did go down a few times before we called it a day.IMG_9533

Her first trip down the big hill.

Eventually Mommy even got into the fun and went down the hill a couple of times.  Can’t wait until we do this again!

We did a little running around after tobogganing including renewing Hannah’s passport and then met Uncle Dave, Aunt Trish and their family at the bowling alley.

Pretty impressed with her roll I’d say!IMG_9563

Sigh…  Yes, if you look at the scores you’ll see that Hannah and I ended up only 10 pins apart in our scores.  Oy!IMG_9568

Hannah and I are so blessed to have such an amazing family!   By this point the girls were in need of naps but the bigger ‘kids’ and Kallen were happy to pose for a pic.  We love you Noah, Josh, Kallen, Laken and Justin!IMG_9571

After bowling we went back to Dave and Trish’s  place and enjoyed a supper of appetizers and a wonderful evening together.  They introduced us to the XBox 360 Disneyland game.  Want to try that one again!

Christmas Day 2012–Special Time with the Family

Christmas afternoon we headed over to my parent’s house to enjoy time with my parents, brother, SIL and their 6 kiddos.  We were sad that my other nieces and nephew were unable to join us this year.  Missed you Bec!

After Christmas dinner we headed to our final home of the day.  We joined Nana, Papa and GG for more Christmas fun.  Hannah was a trooper but she was pooped by this time.IMG_9516
It must have been the year of the cap as Hannah gave this one to Papa.IMG_9521
By this point Hannah was her normal active self that she gets when she gets tired.  Hugging Nana’s leg was the only pic I could snag of the two of them togetherIMG_9523
What a wonderful day Hannah and I shared together surrounded with the love of family and friends.IMG_9575

Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning 2012

What can I say?  We had an absolutely wonderful day together and through it all I fell even more deeply in love (if that is even possible!) with my sweet little girl!!  She is such a sweetie and oh how I love her!

Christmas Eve Hannah left cookies and milk out for Santa and reindeer food on the porch for his helpers.  Our evening was thrown into a bit of a tizzy when the electricity went out at 5:20 and stayed off for the next 2.5 hours.  IMG_9400

We are on the same power grid as our church so it was cancelled which was disappointing.  It did give us a few extra minutes before heading to friends for their annual Christmas Eve open house and Hannah opened 1 present which was matching Christmas nightgowns for she and her ‘Baby’.IMG_9392

Mommy was too excited to sleep but I finally went to bed shortly before 2am.  I’ve always been excited Christmas Eve and found it hard to fall asleep.

Christmas morning she was awake around 6:45 so we headed downstairs.  On the way to the stairs she slipped by Bobble Chippey and the manger scene while saying Happy Birthday to baby Jesus.  I suggested we read the Christmas story but my delightful 3yo said, ‘That’s okay Mommy.  Santa was here and I want to open my presents!’  Heh….such a normal response from a 3yo!  IMG_9410

We hurried downstairs and she squealed when she saw our tree!IMG_9403

We opened our stockings first and then began the gifts.  I was amazed when she opened only one gift and then began to go through the rest of the gifts.  I asked what she was doing and she said, ‘I opened one so now I’m looking for one for you Mommy.’  So sweet!  I explained that I would have gifts at Grandma and Grandpa’s house so these were all for her.IMG_9415

Just what I wanted!!

Just like Mommy!

She received many great gifts from both Mommy and SantaIMG_9428

At 9:00 we headed over to our friend’s home where we shared our annual Christmas breakfast.  Carol had left my gift on our doorstep the evening before with instructions to open it.  What fun when she opened a gift Christmas Eve from her hubby and discovered that we now both had the same Christmas jammies!  Can you see why we love this awesome family?IMG_9431 - Copy

Bobble Chippey–What Are You Doing?

It’s safe to say that our cute little elf became much more mischievous as the month went along!  He started off pretty calm but I think he chatted with some of his elf friends while visiting the North Pole each evening because his antics became more interesting…and fun!  I love each morning when Hannah wakes up and says with excitement, ‘Mommy, Come on!  Let’s go find Bobble Chippey!’  She hops out of bed and together we go to find his latest hiding spot.  Sometimes we have to look a bit and other times he’s in plain sight.  Here are some of the fun places Hannah found her friend Bobble Chippey this month.

Around this time Hannah also realized that Bobble Chippey could be her own personal messenger to Santa.  Heh!  She figured this out all on her own and this day she whispered in his ear something she would like for Christmas.  Smart little sweetie!IMG_9186

This marked the day that Bobble Chippey began to be a little more impish upon his return from the North Pole.  This morning he was caught red handed checking out Hannah’s Christmas candy that was left from her Christmas breakfast.IMG_9199

Playing with Santa Goofy on the stairs.  Wheee!IMG_9225

Enjoying a marshmallow bubble bathIMG_9261

Brushing his teeth the morning after her trip to the dentist.IMG_9275

Reading the Christmas story.IMG_9289

Last week Bobble Chippey heard Hannah talking about having a pj day at daycare.  He wanted to be part of it too!IMG_9343

On this night he talked all of Hannah’s ‘fwiends’ into sitting together at the foot of the bed.  Hmmm…looking at this it’s no wonder there are some nights that I’m not sure where I’ll fit in our bed!IMG_9369

Now I’ve saved Bobble Chippey’s most mischievous antics for the end.  Here’s some of the stuff our little elf got into!  He wrote on our family picture using a dry erase marker.IMG_9353

On this night he ‘decorated’ the Christmas tree with her unmentionables!IMG_9201

This was Hannah’s reaction.

Last night Bobble Chippey was a monkey once again!IMG_9375

As tonight is Christmas Eve Bobble Chippey will help Santa out with his gift deliveries and then make one final appearance tomorrow morning before returning to the North Pole to play with the other elves until next Christmas.  I’m sure all antics will be put aside tomorrow morning when Bobble Chippey reflects to Hannah that Christmas day is the day we celebrate Jesus’ birthday and the day He was sent to earth to be our Saviour.  Tomorrow we’ll begin our day remembering that and celebrating Jesus’ birthday!
